Since early 1996, I have been interested and involved in Web design. Although I trained as an architect, I found an interest in the Web medium and was offered a few design opportunities within the Web industry while attending the University of Minnesota's College of Architecture & Landscape Architecture (CALA). I ultimately abandoned designing for 3D space and focused on user interface design, eventually working as a user experience designer.
I discovered a fascination with color during my studies and found it interesting that color theory was not a part of the general curriculum of an architecture degree. I piggy-backed lessons and color theory principles into to my architectural thesis: "Through Rose Colored Glasses". The color tutorial provided in this site is derived from my early thesis discovery. The palette picker is a dhtml tool developed for the use & investigation of successful color combinations.
Along the road, many people from various newsgroups and other online communities helped me to master many of the web technologies & work through some of the constantly changing browser differences. This site has acquired a rather large following over the years, and in the spirit of those that previously supported my efforts, I've continued to maintain this site. Enjoy.
